Need some inspiration? Take a look at our suggestions below, ranging from new albums, to repertoire, to accessories and more.

Eric Lu – Schubert Piano Sonatas

2018 Leeds International Piano Competition winner Eric Lu has a brand-new album out just in time for Christmas. Lu's album of Schubert pairs two of his greatest sonatas - D 784 in A minor, written in 1823, and D 959 in A major, written in 1828, the last year of the composer's short life; complementing them is the Allegretto in C minor D 915, dating from 1827.

Alim Beisembayev – Liszt Transcendental Études

Coincidentally, Eric Lu's Leeds successor, Alim Beisembayev, also has a new album out. Liszt's famous Transcendental Études are the star of the show in this Warner Classics release. Born in Kazakhstan and trained primarily in the UK, Beisembayev has been praised by leading critics for the spellbinding polish and maturity of his playing.

Maurizio Pollini – Beethoven Late Sonatas

The great Maurizio Pollini is back, this time with Beethoven's Late Sonatas: Piano Sonata No 28 in A Major, Op 101 Piano Sonata No 29 in B-Flat Major, and Op 106 'Hammerklavier'.

'The pianist’s severe, analytical style engages with two of the most challenging works in the repertoire to produce a disc of compelling, muscular authority.' -The Guardian
