Introduction from the composer: This little piece draws on minimalist techniques. The gently oscillating LH melody is pitched against a RH accompaniment, with hands swapping parts at the end. A sense of longing and sorrow pervades the music; the unicorn is symbolic not only of chastity and femininity but is associated with lost love.
