We've gone back through the YouTube archives and found this sensational performance of Alim Beisembayev performing in Moscow in 2008.

Alim, cover star of the Feb/Mar issue of Pianist and winner of the 2021 Leeds Piano Competition, entered Russia's famous 'Nutcracker' competition as a ten-year-old - one of their most prestigious music contests for children. Unsurprisingly, he went on to win the competition with a sensational performance of Tchaikovsky's Nocturne Op 19 No 4. He then made the move over to Russia from his home town of Almaty, Kazakhstan, to study the piano. You can watch his performance below. Enjoy!
