The celebrated pianist's Shigeru Kawai grand piano was being delivered to a concert venue in Palermo via truck when it was stolen

Russian pianist Mikhail Pletnev's beloved Shigeru Kawai grand piano has been robbed while being transported in Italy, according to Italian news outlets.

Pletnev's grand piano, worth an estimated £94,000, was en route to Palermo in Sicily ahead of a concert that Pletnev was due to perform at.

According to local news outlet Sicily Lab, thieves, broke into a parking garage and stole the van containing the specially made musical instrument, which Pletnev uses for all the dates of his international tour.
