The five-time Grammy Award-winning musician's eleven-track album is out now via Decca Records

Jacob Collier has released a stunning new album of solo piano pieces – all recorded live on his recent Djesse World Tour.

During each show of his world tour, Jacob performed a new piano piece for the first time – a piece that was largely improvised on the spot – and would often result in the audience spontaneously transforming into a multi-part choir.

The eleven-track album includes recordings from his shows in Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Charlotte, Columbus, Cambridge, Stockholm, Oslo, London, Glasgow and Lisbon.

Videos of each of the eleven performances will be available in due course. The first video, live from Lisbon, is out now and available to watch below.

Many of the tracks incorporate much-loved existing pieces such as The Beatles' Let It Be, the Bee Gee's How Deep Is Your Love, and ABBA's Dancing Queen.

“Ever since I can remember, I have derived a vast amount of comfort and joy from sitting at the piano and improvising," Jacob comments. "I have long dreamed of sharing an album that lives in that world. This year, I set myself the challenge of playing a spontaneous rendition of a different song every night on tour – with the help of my extraordinary musical audience. These 11 are amongst my favourite postcards. I’m so excited to share them with you all!”

We attended the Manchester, UK show back in June – unfortunately the improvised piece from that night doesn't feature!

The Djesse world tour continues into the autumn with shows across Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. For more info visit jacobcollier.com/tour.
