Toradze suffered heart failure DURING his performance in Vancouver, Washington on 23 April
Alexander Toradze is currently being treated at Vancouver’s PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Centre after suffering heart failure during a concert with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA.
The Georgian pianist had been feeling unwell in the days leading up to the event, but insisted on going ahead with the performance. His publicist, Matt Herman of New York-based 8VA Music Consultancy, told The Columbian that Toradze was "doing well and will probably be in the hospital for few more days."
Toradze completed his Saturday night performance in full with no realisation that he had suffered heart failure during the concert. Herman explained that once Toradze had been taken to hospital after the performance, he was then told he had "acute heart failure while performing, which was only recognized after his trip to the hospital".
The pianist posted this video on 27 April from his hospital bed, reassuring fans that he is doing ok.
We wish him a speedy recovery!
