Bruce Liu is set to perform at London's Southbank Centre on 10 March.
Liu will be joined by the Philharmonia Orchestra and conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali.
He will perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No 2, notable for its gorgeous lyrical second movement with solo violin and cello interweaving their melodies with the piano and its brilliant, exuberant finale. He'll also play the composer's Symphony No 6 'Pathétique'.
Liu took home 1st prize at the 18th edition of the Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw last year. Born in France, Liu graduated from the Montreal Conservatory of Music in the piano class of Richard Raymond. He is currently studying with Đặng Thái Sơn at the Université de Montréal.
