Young pianists between the ages of 6 and 16 can now apply for the programme
The Lang Lang International Music Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2024-2026 Young Scholars Programme.
The Young Scholars programme is a music education initiative designed to identify and support talented young pianists in their professional development. Every two years applications are accepted for a new class of Young Scholars.
Applications are reviewed by Lang Lang, and the Foundation’s Artistic Advisors, who will select a limited number of exceptionally talented young pianists from around the world. Each Young Scholar receives mentorship, tutelage, unique performance opportunities, and joins a thriving community of young artists who are alumni of the prestigious program.
During the two-year scholarship, opportunities for cultural exchange are offered to each Young Scholars through exciting education and performance experiences around the world. Previously, Scholars have performed at The Aspen Music Festival, Cleveland International Piano Institute, UK’s Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival, Andermatt Swiss Alps Classic, and at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Scholars also have the opportunity to perform with Lang Lang at his bi-annual gala, Lang Lang & Friends, in New York.
Applicants must be between the ages of 6 and 16 at the time of applying, must have a classical piano repertoire, and must submit an application by 15 Nov 2023.
