Aldeburgh Music becomes Snape Maltings, on the 50th anniversary of its famous Concert Hall
A message from Roger Wright, Chief Executive:
Dear friends
Last year we were able to purchase the whole Snape Maltings site, enabling us to protect its heritage and secure its future.
As we prepare for the 50th anniversary of Snape Maltings Concert Hall in 2017, we are beginning the process of unifying the site. To reflect this development, our organisation will change its name from Aldeburgh Music to Snape Maltings.
Below you can see our new logo, inspired by the reeds that stretch from Snape far into the Alde estuary. Later this autumn we will also launch our new website which will showcase all the activity that takes place here.
The purchase of the Maltings enables us to consider possible use for the remaining derelict buildings on the site. We are beginning to make plans for exciting future developments, which we plan to announce in June 2017. We hope that the new clarity of our name and brand will help strengthen understanding of our year-round activity as we continue to expand that work.
The Aldeburgh Festival and our artistic programme of course remain unchanged and continue to go from strength to strength.
I look forward to sharing more news with you through the months ahead.
With best wishes
Roger Wright
Chief Executive
